There is more than enough time left in 2023 for you to glow up. Below are seven easy-peezy lifestyle glow up tips to help you dazzle up this year. Are you ready? Keep reading!

1. Invest in Skin Care, Not Just Skin Care Products

7 Glow Up Tips for Every Woman in 2023

I don’t know who needs to see this but skincare isn’t only about buying expensive skin care products. It’s inclusive but that’s not all there is to skin care.

Some skin care products might even end up irritating your skin because of one ingredient or chemical. Especially if you have delicate skin.

Use natural ingredients like shea butter, turmeric, aloe vera, eggs, milk, honey, etc. Applying these natural products directly to your skin will have a healthier effect on your skin in comparison with applying skin care products that contain them in minute quantities.

For example, using aloe vera directly on your skin will repair the skin’s surface and give it a smoother feel. It even works wonders on stretch marks and dark spots as it contains aloin. Aloin is a chemical that is responsible for melanin depigmentation.

In other words, aloe vera helps to naturally lighten your skin. You also want to include honey in your skin therapy. Honey is a natural toner and it also works great on treating acne, oily, and combination skin types.

Instead of buying all those expensive products that might contain a component that your skin will end up reacting to, try these natural products first and see if you don’t get a natural healthy glow.

Of course, skin care products can and should NOT be undermined. Natural ingredients are great but you also need to know how to use or combine them to get the best effects.

Most branded skin care products already have these natural products combined to give you the best effect. Preferably get products that are made in South Korea and Japan. They are famous for making the best skin care products.

2. Use Supplements Instead of “Organics”

I watched a video recently and with horror-filled eyes, I saw how someone was preparing his “organics” for sale.

He was mixing over 200 different lightening lotions into a bucket with so much energy and I thought to myself “people are going to rub this on their skin?!”

In fact, that video was one of the reasons why I decided to write this article.

You don’t need to use “organics” to glow up.

Anything that makes you more than two shades lighter than your original skin tone is dangerous.

What people don’t understand about bleaching is that it peels off the layers of their skin. Doing that will expose your skin to more environmental hazards and in worst-case scenarios, it could even result in cancer.

Some people have even ended up with body odor because of these unbranded products because they mixed God knows what together to give people to rub on their skins.

There are more risks involved in using these “organic products” than taking supplements.

Supplements are a great way to lighten your skin and since they are also healthy for your body, it’s a two-in-one package for you.

Taking vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin B12, and vitamin E will lighten up your skin and give it a healthy appeal.

Vitamin C helps your body produce more collagen while preventing melanin formation. It also helps with treating damages like sunspots. Vitamin B enhances the growth of new skin cells while also producing collagen. Vitamin E is great for treating scars, which makes it great for treating dark spots.

Speaking of dark spots, vitamin A is the perfect fix for treating dark spots from acne.

As you can see, there are healthier ways to get the desired effect you want to risk your skin’s health over. It might take longer but it’ll definitely give you a better glow than “organics” will.

3. Get Yourself a Vitamin C Serum and an SPF

We already know the benefits of vitamin C on skin health. Still, you might not want to take tablets or you might prefer the vibe you get from rubbing the products in with your own hands.

No problem, get yourself a vitamin C serum and a sun protection formula (SPF).

Using a vitamin C serum means your skin is directly enjoying all the vitamin C goodness that it might not get completely when you ingest foods or tablets.

Vitamin C serum is safe to use no matter your skin type. It also helps to brighten, hydrate, and reduce the redness on your skin. Vitamin C serum can also prevent sagging and dark circles.

Vitamin C serum helps to reduce hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation includes age spots, sun spots, and melasma.

You might be wondering what melasma is. Melasma is a skin condition in which melanin is in overproduction in some parts of the body, causing those spots to appear darker than the other parts of the body. It doesn’t only occur on the face. Melasma can also occur in spots where acne has healed.

Vitamin C serum can also help with healing wounds and sunburns.

Now, for SPFs.

Don’t leave your house without sun protection! Especially if you stay in a tropical continent like Africa.

No matter how many skin care products you use, you might not see the fruits of your labour if you do not use sun protection. In fact, some people will go as far as telling you to rub it in when you’re indoors. In my opinion, this is optional.

However, it is compulsory when you’re stepping out of your house. Always use your sun protection formula and carry it out with you. When you notice the weather is getting too hot on your skin, reapply your SPF on the exposed areas.

Using an SPF will reduce your chances of getting sunburns, dark spots, and other sun damage on your skin.

4. Exercise! Sleep!! Eat Balanced Diet!!!

This three-in-one tip cannot be overemphasized. Asides from what you rub on the outside, you need to work your way through caring for your skin from the inside out.

Exercise!

The increased blood flow that occurs when you exercise helps to vitalize and nourish skin cells.

Moreover, working out will also give you a better physique and a healthier mind.

What better way to glow up than looking, feeling, and thinking your best?

Sleep lots!!

Insomnia kills brain cells and causes dark under-eye circles. It also leads to puffy eyes, all of which are a no-no towards our glowing up.

If you want to glow up in the remaining days of 2023, make sure you are sleeping a lot and resting frequently. Your body will thank you for it.

Eat a balanced diet!!!

The saying “you are what you eat” is no joke. The foods you consume play a direct role in whether you’ll glow up or fade out.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables contain many vitamins and these vitamins play a key role in improving your overall skin health.

Eating a balanced meal will also help you stay in shape, which is important for the next point I’ll be mentioning.

5. Tweak Your Wardrobe from Time to Time

Nothing announces a glow-up better than dressing and appearing more refined. You don’t need to buy a lot at once and you don’t have to buy designers to look great.

Here’s a tip on how to go about looking great wardrobe-wise:

Buy at least two clothes every month. At the end of the year, you would have at least 24 completely new clothes and over 100 different looks. When you are buying your clothes, buy them randomly and in different colors.

Make sure you get:

  • A denim jacket
  • A bumper jacket
  • Tank tops (in at least 5 solid colours)
  • A little black dress
  • Short jeans skirt
  • Rompers/ jumpsuits/ pinafores
  • Crop tops
  • Tube blouses (in at least 3 solid colours)
  • Jean trousers (blue and black)
  • Combat trousers/ joggers/ track pants
  • Corset tops (in 3 solid colours)
  • Hoodies/ sweatshirts/ cardigans

You don’t need to buy them all at once and you definitely don’t need to buy designers to look good. You can also try checking out thrift stores. You’d be surprised how many people wear thrift clothes and still look great in them.

Don’t forget your wigs, accessories, and footwear! Though I’m sure you got that figured out already.

6. Drink Lots of Water

Water, they say, is life.

Well, it is indeed life to your skin. Drinking lots of water helps to prevent the secretion of excess oil on your face. This results in fewer acne and clogged pores.

Drinking water also helps with sagging skin and pH balance.

The pH value of water is 7. Since pH ranges from 0–14, you can see that 7 is the neutral number that is perfect for your skin. Drinking lots of water helps to retain the pH level. You’ll enjoy healthy skin when your pH level is balanced.

Meanwhile, drinking water helps to reduce wrinkles and maintain your skin’s elasticity. If you want to know whether your skin is elastic or not, try to gently pinch your skin. If it bounces back, you’re good. If not, you need to drink more water.

Water also helps to naturally moisturize and flush toxins away from the body. Thereby leading to clearer, healthier skin.

You should ensure you drink at least 8 glass cups of water every day for your skin’s radiance to blossom.

7. Visit A Spa Once in A While

Invest in your body as often as you can. Don’t be too stingy to treat yourself to a spa. After all that hard work, your body needs a few baby girl treatments every once in a while.

Go to the spa and give your skin professional treatment, then see if you don’t glow up for the remaining days of the year.

Conclusion

You deserve the best. This also means your body deserves the best treatment too. Don’t be stingy with yourself. When you invest your time, money, and other resources into treating your skin properly, you’ll see the effects in your glowed-up reflection and thank yourself for working on it.

Goodluck dear queen!
