Valentine’s Day 2020: How Will Women Celebrate It?
At this time, so many people are still wondering what to do on Valentine’s day. How can we make our Valentine’s day special? Some of us have no paramour to go out with while others have turned down a lot of people. Talk about all fingers are not equal.
Being a woman on valentine’s day is like having a bit of a price on your head. You either surrender to the ridicule of the valentine’s police or you hide somewhere, lying low in the midst of your friends. Some of us actually have this as our lot while others (the terribly lucky ones) have another story to tell.
So I was walking through the streets of twitter, my Facebook account you know, trying to get enough online time before I have to shut everything down tomorrow. Lol. I decided to do a little survey, to know how many people are actually in my situation and how many people are not. I knew y’all researchers will be shaking your head at me when you see that I only interviewed five women but what’s a girl gotta do?

Interview With Maya
The first person I asked was Maya, Maya is from New Zealand. She’s a Latino with this killer shape and a pretty smile. Normally posts a lot of pictures on her page, but we aren’t complaining. Are we?
Me: Hello Maya
Maya: Kia Ora Annie
Me: Can you believe it? Tomorrow is Valentine’s day! How would you be spending it?
Maya: OMG. Really? I still haven’t gotten that new pillow. 😓
Me: What? You giving your man a pillow as a valentine’s gift? 😲
Maya: No silly! 😄 I need that pillow to sleep in. Cos I’ll be curled up in bed, earmuffs and all tomorrow.
Me: LOL. 😂 I would never have guessed!

Interview With Shane
Well, Shane lives in Paris. You know, it is so beautiful out there. I’ve always wanted to go there, see the Eiffel Tower, speak French and all. So romantic.
Me: Bonjour Shane.
Shane: Bonjour Annie. French looks good on you. Lol.
Me: Really?😄
Shane: No. What’s up?
Me: Mind telling me how your valentine’s celebration tomorrow will look like?
Shane: No I don’t. There’s not much to tell. My baby is ill. I’ll be taking her to the vet and then we’ll visit my parents in the evening.
Me: No boyfriend?🤔
Shane: My Ex-boyfriend, Peter, should have been here now but he texted me yesterday morning saying he needed to “regroup”
Me: What? Two days before valentine’s day?😯
Shane: I think that’s the point. 🙂
Me: Ouch!

Catherine is from Nigeria. She runs a boutique and is married with four kids. Catherine is not your typical run on the mill mother of four though. That woman knows how to party.
Me: Good afternoon, Catherine.
Catherine: Hi dear. You’re lucky to have texted me at this time.
Me: Why?
Catherine: I was just about to put off my phone. My husband and I are going on a short vacation, and we agreed on no Cell phones.
Me: Wow! What about the kids?
Catherine: They’re with their grandmother.

Me: Cold, and lonely😥
Melanie: Haha. What are you talking about, girl?
Me: I’m talking about Valentine. I haven’t got any plans. Have you?
Melanie: Of course. I’ll be going to a party with my friends. Promises to be crazy😁
Me: Wow😱
Melanie: Yeah
Me: I’m jealous😭
Melanie: Get a life!😄
I actually enjoyed interviewing these women more than I thought I would. It also opened my eyes and made me know that celebrating valentine is a personal thing and what’s important is that you enjoy the day. For my valentine, I want to do everything I wrote on the article 10 fun things to do when you’re single on valentine’s day. I’m also expecting a lot of chocolate and cakes from my friends! It promises to be fun! Tell me, how will you be spending your valentine?
