World War 3: Iran Attacks USA With Ballistic Missiles

iran attacks us

A few days ago there were predictions that World War III was about to begin flying around. Many people regarded it as just a trending story and some even laughed at it. What would you say if I told you that as we speak the situation is getting critical? Following Iran’s latest attack on US military bases in Iraq where it sent about twenty two missiles to bases containing US military personnel. Iran sent ballistic missiles to bases including the Al asad military base. This missile attack was a retaliation.

It is unfortunate that military officials of other countries were also at those bases. Countries like Britain, Norway, and Poland. Britain has condemned Iran’s action rather sternly, saying that it should not be repeated and advising Iran to pursue peace. Poland has confirmed that no Polish troops were hurt in the attack. Donald Trump said on Twitter that “all is well” he is set to speak tomorrow morning. The Iranian president is also set to speak tomorrow morning.

Iran seems to be rejoicing over the attack saying that over eighty “US terrorists” were killed. What about its economic activities? It is expected that economic activities will be affected when people see signs of impending war. Emirates Airlines canceled its flight to Iran’s capital today and is awaiting updates from relevant authorities. Countries like Japan and India are advising their citizens who live in Iran and Iraq to take the utmost care. The world is in a blooming state of emergency. What started all of this?

When Trump sent missiles to Iran and these missiles killed Soleimani, the whole world held its breath. Iran, as expected, was irate and they mourned. We mourned along with them but a part of all of us begged them not to retaliate. Not because we were trying to deny them the justice they crave for but because we realize that any step they take is one more step towards the dreaded World War III.

Let us not forget that Trump has threatened to attack 52 sites (including civilian sites) if Iran retaliates and they have just retaliated. What happens now? Will the bloodshed begin or will one of these powerful countries behave like the “bigger person” and call off this catfight with prospects of blooming into a full-blown world war?

Iran vs USA Military Power

The US has military manpower of One million, two hundred and eighty-one thousand nine hundred persons. In contrast, Iran has just five hundred and fifty thousand military personnel. Do I smell something burning? USA spends six hundred and ten billion dollars on its military in great contrast to Iran’s fourteen billion dollars.

In such a situation, a war between these two countries will be a bloodbath that will almost wipe off the whole of Iran unless God intervenes and a miracle happens. It is almost a situation of a hen fighting an elephant. I understand that the people of Iran are aggrieved and their pride is bruised but there are some wars you can’t just fight.

Although Iran’s missile force is the largest in the Middle East, America’s military is superior and that is not a bluff. Let’s drop vengeance and making things right and focus on what will be the best for everyone. Let us think about the civilians that will die in this battle. It is true that when two elephants fight, the grass suffers. Iran has in turn threatened the USA that any retaliation will trigger an all out war in the Middle East.

What is the fate of women and children if war breaks out and Trump decides to make good of his promise? What is the fate of the world if this “catfight” spreads to meet millions of people, killing or maiming them? Before any decision is made regarding war, the lives of the people should be put into consideration first.

Yes, Iran has attacked military bases now but what happens when bombs reach parks? museums? What is the fate of Muslims in America who have no business with the war? It is funny how some decisions made by our leaders have a profound impact on the lives of the citizens. Believe it or not, this is how the previous World Wars started.

A little fight here, a large fight there and everything gets out of hand. We should all realize that the fight should be against terrorism and not a particular country.

Meanwhile, we wait for both presidents to give their speeches tomorrow. Let us also keep our fingers crossed and pray for our planet. While we are all fighting for our countries, let us remember that war is a dreadful thing and during war millions of people will suffer and die. SAY NO TO WAR.
