Why Trump Was Impeached – A Concerned Woman’s Perspective
As Trump’s impeachment hits us like a sudden blow we begin to wonder, is the United States developing a taste for impeaching presidents? Donald Trump is the third United States president to be impeached if I am not mistaken. According to the former president, accusations leveled against him by the Democrats are false. He calls them cowards and liars who just want to “unfairly” impeach “America’s favorite economy plus president”.
Some people might agree that the Democrats are just kicking up a storm and indicting an innocent man. What do you think? Is he innocent? or did Trump deserve to be Trumped? Whether innocent or not, we cannot argue that Trump’s impeachment will come as great news to the majority of Americans (particularly Immigrants) who have suffered under his rule.
Throughout his stay as president, Donald Trump has put America in a buzz. His interviews are a must watch and his decisions? OMG he went on and on creating policies that did not favour some Americans and immigrants alike. We can be forgiven if we call him a first class hater; Hating on women, hating on Blacks and hating on Arabs. Did I say America will rejoice? Hell! the whole world should be rejoicing at this wonderful development.
Together we will decide if the man is innocent or guilty as charged. Below are some sins he committed all in the name of Policies.
AMERICA FIRST POLICY
In the books, this is a foreign policy in the USA that emphasizes American nationalism and Isolationism. Outside the books, this seemingly innocent policy is an easy way to promote Nativism. Need I remind you that when these bigots say America they mean only the native born americans? Immigrants are definitely not part of that golden equation no matter how hard they want to try convincing themselves.
This policy of discrimination does not help matters in a country where racial discrimination and hate is the order of the day. The wise thing to do would be Inclusivity and love that would promote peace and tolerance, but was Trump ever known to be a wise president?
His attitude has promoted White supremacy that has increased discrimination everywhwere in America, including High schools where children commit suicide because they can’t take more of the bullying and the pressure.
Trump’s hate for muslims has increased discrimination against muslims, an ecample is the young woman who was assaulted at a fast food restaurant by a white lady just because she was wearing a hijab.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES
Unlike his predecessor Barack OBAMA who put policies in place to limit the use of fossil fuel in an attempt to reduce carbon emissions. Obama prioritized the use of renewable energy in an effort to “clean the air” while Trump has sought to increase the use of fossil fuels. He approved the drilling in nearly all US waters and even national parks across the country.
I must say that his “I don’t care” behavior and his seemingly high moral ground is controversial. His quest to “look good” in the eyes of some people has led him to make very unwise decisions. Who puts economic growth before human life?
His total disrespect for human life leaves nothing to the imagination and is it not sad that everything Obama put in place to create a better America, Trump came and has Trumped it all away? His reversal of environmental regulations was a dangerous move. It was predicted that it would likely cost over 80,000 US residents their lives and lead to respiratory problems for over 1million people but Trump went ahead and did it.
How smart is a president who doesn’t believe carbon dioxide is a cause of global warming? Or who smartly claimed to not believe it? He ignored how his policies would cause climate changes and went ahead to praise his administration’s promoting of the “cleanest air”. What a joke!
ECONOMIC POLICY

The aim of Trump’s economic policies which was supposed to increase trade and increase GDP has fallen flat on the faces of many Americans. It is obvious now that, despite their many disadvantages, these policies have caused only a slight increase on the country’s GDP while making the minority poorer by increasing the tax they have to pay and by so doing, increasing the income gap between low income earners and high income earners in America.
This policy has caused the number of people who have health insurance to drop and unemployment rates among minorities have increased. Is it not glaring that the impeached president had no love for his citizens? Who makes policies that only profit people of your social class while leaving the majority of Americans(especially immigrants) in penury?
Trump’s giant ego and controversial attitude prevented him from leaving things the way they were or making plans to make them better, instead he decided to tear everything down. His behavior is akin to tearing down walls of gold only to erect dust pillars in its place.
IMMIGRANT LAWS

Trump opposed the restoration of full diplomatic relations with Cuba as well as the Cuban Adjustment Act, which allows Cubans to stay in the US and apply for residency. According to him, he was not willing to spend his money on Cuba and does not want Cubans to have American residency because “it is not a fair thing“.
He also had something to say about Mexicans who he claimed brought problems, drugs and crime into the US. When these claims were tested, they were found to be false. In his rants, the Asians were not left out as he called the Chinese enemies of America. As far as Trump is concerned, anyone who does not fit into his White American box is an enemy and should be dealt with as such.
Our children are affected daily by acts of discrimination. They are made to feel like they are something less than their White peers. It is true that racial discrimination in America is an old menace but Trump like any good president should have worked to eradicate it.
His hate for immigrants is an obvious racist ploy as research has shown that immigrants increase the size of the US economy and causes sporadic economic growth. This is at great odds with Trump’s un-ending rants about the disadvantages of allowing immigrants cross over into the US. A rant which I honestly think is fueled by jealousy as everyone knows that immigrants are the most hard working people in the US who push for growth despite all the odds they face.
TRUMP’S ATTACK ON WOMEN

Never in the history of America have we seen a president display such unbridled contempt for women and the reproductive process. Trumps Global Gag Rule policy restricts the US government from providing funds to International organisations that offer abortion related services and also those that combat global health issues like HIV/AIDS and malaria.
Trump’s efforts to remove women’s reproductive liberties with the Global Gag Rule was a big blow to women. It is no secret that the ability of a woman to opt for abortion when she deems fit is a way of reducing male domination over the female folk. Trump’s idea of getting any woman who receives federal funded birth control is a sign that sometimes a Misogynist can sit as president.
Can we ignore the sexual abuse allegations leveled against Trump which he denied? It would be obvious what kind of man he is, if we were able to get to the bottom of the crime. Is he innocent? Or did he take women against their will? His hunger for power is appalling and the way he treats people? Makes you wonder if being president makes you Lord over the lives of every American. The man leaps at any opportunity to abuse power.
Unfortunately, Trump’s cruelty towards humans and his complete disregard for human life rubbed off on some US citizens. It is not news that Trump tore immigrant children from the arms of their mothers all in the name of anti-immigrant policies. Police brutality towards young Black and Latino youth is appalling. The racist energy in the streets is rising to scalding heights. It is with fear that we send our children into the streets these days.

Many young men have been killed on the pretext of them being criminals and no one does anything about it. High School Shooting happen so often. Parents have sent their children to school in the morning only to find their cold bodies lying on the tarmac by evening. These boys never did anyone any wrong, neither did their mothers. Sporadic shooting by White males have been recorded and all this is in response to the dictatorial power of a hate filled president who has no respect for human life, women and children. A president who speaks out of turn all the bloody time.
He has fired insults at various countries, their way of life and their president. His hate for Africa, Asia and the whole damn world is a personal problem but he makes it seem like it comes from the minds of the America people. The whole of America is embarrassed I must say.
He might rave and rant today but who takes a social media president serious? His tweets would make your day. One foul comment after the other. A president should be a man of good character, someone worth looking up to and emulating but we cannot say the same for Trump who is always a bad trend on twitter. He is a danger to human rights, America and the entire world. So on this auspicious day, should we say good riddance or not?
