What killed TB Joshua? Popular Nigerian prophet, Televangelist, and philanthropist dies at 57

Tb Joshua, death, SCOAN, autopsy, June 6th, Twitter, Femi Fani-Kayode,

Prophet and philanthropist TB Joshua confirmed dead a few days to his 58th birthday.

The devastating news of the demise of the Nigerian Prophet, televangelist, and philanthropist broke the internet on June 6, 2021, after he was reported to have died on Saturday, 5th of June. Temitope Babalola Joshua popularly known as ‘TB Joshua’ went to be with the Lord after a service at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Lagos, Nigeria on the same date. Temitope Babalola died on Saturday night in Lagos, shortly after hosting a meeting with partners of his TV channel, Emmanuel TV.

Till now, the cause of his painful demise is yet unknown to the public as no official news has been released from his family.

However, there’s hope that the cause of his death would be revealed soon. Prophet T.B Joshua’s body has been reportedly moved to a morgue and an autopsy report to confirm the cause of his death would soon be released.

Despite all this, prophet T.B Joshua’s last words in his sermon yesterday to his congregation was this:

Watch and pray. One life for Christ is all we have; one life for Christ is so dear“.

Which indeed leaves one to wonder if he truly perceived that death was upon him, and he was going to die.

Several Nigerians, well-wishers, and members of his community in the international space have taken to Twitter and Instagram to express their shock, pain, and sadness at the sudden passing of Prophet TB Joshua. Amongst them is his close friend, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode who initially tweeted that the news of TB Joshua’s death was another uncouth rumor. However, a few hours later, he later went on to clarify and confirm the news of TB Joshua’s death in his tweet.

“The passing of my brother, TB Joshua saddens me deeply. At 3:00 am this morning, I was told by one of his daughters that this was fake news and I tweeted as much. Sadly, I was misled. Five(5) minutes ago, the same person called me and confirmed the story.”

“This man fed widows & orphans, trained people he never met in schools and gave people jobs. He was hardly involved in stupid politics like most other pastors & prophets.”

While we mourn and wait for an official statement from the family, it is imperative to remember that the prophet had served his purpose on earth, touched lives, and made a lasting impact on humanity. We must all remember to live every day of our lives impacting humanity by helping our brothers, sisters, and neighbors in need, serving God faithfully, and remembering that life is nothing but vanity, just as he had taught us to do through the word of God.
