Two Celebrity Baby Showers Everyone is Talking About
If you think celebrity weddings are the highlight of 2025, think again. This season, it’s baby showers and pregnancy announcements stealing the spotlight, and two names have been at the center of all the gist:
First is Toke Makinwa, the media queen who has been in our faces for over a decade, known for her luxury lifestyle, glam events, and hot takes.
Next is Priscilla Ojo Mkambala, one of Gen Z’s favorite influencers, whose multiple-part wedding had all of us saying, “God when?” Now, both women are trending for something softer, something unexpected: motherhood, and we are loving it.
Let’s start with Toke Makinwa.
Toke Makinwa’s Baby Shower
This month, Toke Makinwa made an announcement that shook the entire internet table and broke it clean in half. She posted an absolutely beautiful video of herself in a garden, wearing a gorgeous golden yellow floral dress while gently holding her baby bump on her Instagram page.
The internet was on fire. Blogs reposted, fans gushed, and everyone was in their feelings. You could literally feel the joy radiating through the phone screens. The reactions weren’t strange or surprising. We are talking about Toke Makinwa, the same woman we’ve seen slay in luxury vacations, red carpets, and countless controversies, and here she is, opening a completely different chapter. The mother-to-be did not hide her excitement as shown in her caption:

Did I mention the gender reveal? It was luxury, peak Toke energy. She opened a designer bag (yes, bag, not balloon or cake like normal people), pulled out a baby-pink Bottega Veneta bag, screamed with joy, and boom, we knew she was having a girl.
Of course, Toke wasn’t going to stop at an announcement or a gender reveal video. A queen must celebrate properly.
Let’s talk about her baby shower. My God. This wasn’t just a shower; it was a whole cinematic production. Pastel balloon arches everywhere, tables that looked like Pinterest boards, giant teddy bears, and a cake that read “Oh Baby!”
The guest list was packed with family, friends, celebrities, influencers, and fashionistas. There was even a special guest artist performance by her friend, Tiwa Savage, of the iconic song “My Darling.” Toke herself was glowing like someone who had been dipped in sunshine. Her cream-coloured, one-shoulder dress with feather trims was simple, elegant and intentional.
She later posted a video that captured all the beautiful moments surrounded by her family and friends, and captioned it: “Blessed beyond measure and showered with love. Oh baby, it’s about to get real.” And to me, it was just perfect.

Next up is Mrs. Mkambala.
Now, while Toke was busy breaking the internet in Lagos, another party was going on in Canada, perhaps. Priscilla Ojo had her own gender reveal party/baby shower, and it was just as epic and beautiful as Toke Makinwa’s.
After a lot of speculation from the fans on whether she was pregnant or not, she finally announced in July in an Instagram post that she and her husband are expecting “baby Mkambala.” Her husband, Juma Jux, even released a song for the unborn baby titled “Thank You” following Priscy’s request. How cute!
She posted a video of moments from the beautiful gender reveal party with her family and friends. It was hosted outdoors in a garden-like space. The décor was a mix of cream, brown and of course a hint of pink and blue. The gorgeous mom-to-be was glowing, dressed in a beautiful purple dress.
The highlight of the party was the big reveal itself. Priscilla and Juma stood side by side with smoke cannons in their hands, with their family and friends gathered in front of them in anticipation and excitement. Then came the blue smoke, and yes, it’s a boy!
And just like that, we’re expecting a baby girl from Toke Makinwa and a baby boy from Priscilla Ojo. Two different women, both glowing, both trending, both proving that in 2025, pregnancy news is just as big a deal as a wedding or album drop.
