The Truth About the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake Romance

The book has been creating waves due to its revelations about her conservatorship, her relationship with her ex-husband and kids, the truth behind her head-shaving incident, and more. However, what has captured most people’s attention is what she reveals about her relationship with former NSYNC band member, Justin Timberlake.
If you were alive in the early 2000s, you probably heard about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s famous romance. Particularly all the gossip post their break up. Well, the pop star is finally telling her side of things. Here are five shocking revelations from the new Britney Spears memoir:
1. Justin Cheated on Her
According to Spears, Timberlake serially cheated on her throughout their three-year relationship. She recounts how she knew about his affairs but chose to let it slide, even when the tabloids were filled with stories of his infidelity.
Spears even mentioned a specific incident, “When NSYNC went to London in 2000, photographers caught him with one of the girls from All Saints in a car. But I never said anything. At the time we’d only been together for a year.”
“Another time, we were in Vegas, and one of my dancers who’d been hanging out with him told me he’d gestured toward a girl and said, ‘Yeah, man, I hit that last night,’” she continues. “I don’t want to say who he was talking about because she’s actually very popular and she’s married with kids now. I don’t want her to feel bad.”
She also admitted to cheating on Timberlake once with choreographer Wade Robson, after hearing about his infidelity.
2. Justin’s Problematic Use of African-American Vernacular English (AAVE)
Timberlake, who has a history of being accused of cultural appropriation, is also portrayed as someone who used AAVE insensitively. Spears recalls an incident in New York City when Timberlake attempted to mimic AAVE, she recalled a specific incident during a visit to New York City, in which they encountered “a guy with a huge, blinged-out medallion who was flanked by two giant security guards.”
“J got all excited and said, so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwiiiiiine! What’s up, homie?’”
Her assistant Felicia Culotta made fun of his butchered attempt to sound black American. But Timberlake didn’t seem embarrassed by it and carried on, which Spears found unsettling.
3. Justin Encouraged Britney to Have an Abortion
The memoir reveals that Spears became pregnant, and Timberlake urged her to have an abortion, even though she wanted to keep the child. The abortion took place at home to avoid public knowledge, and Spears describes the experience as one of the most agonizing events in her life.
The singer wrote that only she, Timberlake, and Culotta were aware of the abortion, executed through Spears’s ingestion of “little pills.”
4. Justin Broke Up with Her Via Text
Timberlake ended their relationship via text while Spears was on the set of a music video, causing her immense emotional pain. The breakup left her devastated and temporarily made her consider leaving Hollywood for good. To recover from the aftershock, she moved back home to Kentwood, Louisiana for a while.
5. Justin Gave Britney a Framed Breakup Letter
After the breakup, Timberlake came to visit her when she was in Kentwood and presented Spears with a framed breakup letter. The letter was filled with sentimental words but it did not provide the closure Spears was hoping for.
“He brought me a long letter he’d written and framed,” she recalled “I still have it under my bed. And at the end, it said—it makes me want to cry to think about it—‘I can’t breathe without you.’ Those are the last words in it.”.
The narrative around their relationship at the time painted Spears as a “cheating slut and a liar,” she said in her own words in her book, tarnishing her image. Timberlake’s music video for “Cry Me a River,” which featured a Spears look-alike cheating on seemingly depressed Justin Timberlake, further exacerbated the situation. He seemed to revel in the public’s sympathy. Spears reflected on how the narrative portrayed her as a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy.”
These revelations have stirred controversy and raised questions about Timberlake’s past. People have resurfaced old clips of Timberlake’s controversial behavior, such as blackfishing, and rumors of serial cheating in his most recent relationship with Jessica Biel. Representatives for Justin Timberlake have yet to respond, and he has disabled comments on his instagram due to the backlash.
