Israel And UAE Reach Historic Agreement To Normalize Relations

The UAE and Israel today, have come to an agreement to establish normal relations between these two states. This agreement also means that there will be a temporary pause in Israel’s plans to annex Palestinian lands. The United Arab Emirates becomes the third Arab state to normalize ties with Israel after Egypt and Jordan.

From the White House, Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner speaks on the Israel and UAE deal. He said “What happened was here, we were able to achieve what others were not able to achieve and this will advance the region, and this will advance the whole world. I will like to say to the people of the region, Muslims, Jews, Christians – that this does give hope that the problems of the past do not condemn you to a future with conflict.

Muslims will be welcome in Israel and this will create a better interfaith exchange. So this is a tremendous step forward for peace in the world, for America, for Israel, for Abu Dhabi.”

President Donald Trump and The Nobel Peace Prize

National security advisor Robert O’Brien in his speech had lots of praises for President Donald Trump. He said “He brought a cease-fire agreement when Turkey had invaded Northern Syria. A lot of people said that when he came into office, people thought there would be war in North Korea but through personal diplomacy, he has kept that situation from turning into a chaotic event.

It is really interesting when you step back now and see what this President has been doing at the peace front. It wouldn’t surprise me, it would take some time in this environment but it wouldn’t surprise me if the president is finally nominated for a Nobel prize.”

Since the agreement between Israel and UAE has been announced, several other persons have come out to suggest that the president of the United States deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. According to them, other presidents before Trump had bragged that they would promote peace to the Middle East but none had come close to what the present president of the United States has done.

Why Palestinians Are Dissatisfied With The “Good News”

Palestinians expressed their anger at the peace agreement today. Their reason was that the agreement is evil because it only encourages Israel’s continued perpetuating injustice towards the Palestinian people. Palestinians have repeatedly begged Arab states (including UAE) to not normalize relations until Israel stops its unjust violence against its people.

They, therefore, view the action of the United Arab Emirates as a betrayal. On twitter, Palestinian’s and others communicated their dissatisfaction with tweets such as these:

“Shame on UAE, you have betrayed Palestinians by joining hands with Israel.

A few days ago Israel had demolished the house of this poor little girl in the middle of the night.

Israel is a killer state, NO Peace without Palestine.”

“It’s so disgusting to see people glorifying this deal when Palestinians have not been consulted about any of it.

Palestinians are used as political pawns, it’s awful – there’s still an Occupation, they’re still being deprived of their human rights – this isn’t a victory.”
