Diddy and Cassie: Diddy Admits To Abusing Cassie

Diddy and Cassie

Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy or Puff Daddy, has been a powerhouse in the music industry for years, celebrated for his entrepreneurial spirit and chart-topping records. However, the tumultuous relationship between Diddy and Cassie has recently caused his reputation to take a serious hit. Since the end of last year, Diddy has faced a barrage of allegations, ranging from sex trafficking to rape, and he is currently embroiled in multiple civil lawsuits. Federal agents from US Homeland Security even conducted raids on two of the rapper’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March.

Just when it seemed he had narrowly escaped legal trouble following a case that began it all, involving Diddy and Cassie last November, the music mogul found himself in hot water once again. This past weekend, a 2016 video resurfaced, showing Diddy abusing his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The footage, though not entirely surprising, has now confirmed what many have been thinking: perhaps R. Kelly should start making room for a new inmate. Let’s dive into the details.

The hotel surveillance video, exclusively obtained by CNN, captures Diddy physically assaulting Cassie Ventura during an altercation in a hallway. This footage aligns with the claims made against him in her lawsuit, which was filed and settled in November.

Aired on Friday, the security video shows Diddy—clad only in a white towel—punching and kicking Cassie. She was not only his longtime girlfriend but also his protégé at the time. The footage further reveals Combs shoving and dragging her, as well as throwing a vase in her direction.

Up until now, Diddy has vehemently denied every allegation against him. However, this video, with its multiple angles emphasizing Diddy’s violence (including close-ups that clearly show their undeniable identities), leaves no room for denial by Diddy or his lawyers. Instead, he chose to release an apology video.

Diddy and Cassie: The Apology

In a somber, selfie-style video, Diddy—dressed in a T-shirt and seemingly on a patio—addressed the public. He admitted that he was guilty of abusing Cassie (shocking), he went on to say, “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” He continues, “I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

This marks the hip-hop mogul’s most direct response and his first apology following six months of allegations that have severely threatened his reputation and career.

Meredith Firetog, who represents Ventura and other women who have sued Combs, believes the apology was, “more about himself than the many people he has hurt. She adds, “When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday… That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

Apparently, aside from Ventura at least three other women filed lawsuits against him, Combs posted a statement on Instagram broadly denying the truth of all of them. “Let me absolutely clear. I did not do any of the awful things being alleged,” that post said.

The security camera video, dated March 5, 2016, closely matches the description of an incident at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, as detailed in Ventura’s lawsuit. The suit alleges that Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for the security video immediately after the incident.

While Diddy is not in danger of criminal prosecution for the beating (due to statutes of limitations on assault and battery charges), federal investigators are closely examining the situation, searching for any potential crimes that could still be prosecuted under current law.

Diddy has allegedly deleted all his instagram posts. Including his apology video to cassie.

More updates on the terrible situation between Diddy and Cassie will be shared as they come.
