Conspiracy Theories Against Kamala Harris
Conspiracy theories can be really laughable at times but we cannot deny that they can be dangerous. In this case, when a single conspiracy theory can change a voter’s decision on who to vote for, it is doubly important for us to know what is truth and what is not. Kamala Harris in the past week has been the focus of various conspiracy theories of which I will mention a few. For those of us who do not yet know who she is, this is for you.
Who is Kamala Harris?
Kamala Devi Harris is an American lawyer and politician and lawyer. She has worked in the United States Senate since 2017. She has African and Asian origins and was born in America, which makes her an African American who has Asian roots. She can be described as wilful by some and ruthless by others.
She is said to have “put many black men behind bars” because of her anti-hemp policy. She is also a jovial woman, quick to laughter and quite easy on the eye.
Early this week, on August 11th 2020, Joe Biden announced that Senator Kamala Harris will be his running mate for the 2020 elections in November.
Since then, Kamala Harris has come under heavy criticism from reputable members of the society including President Trump. These persons have all expressed their opinions and we will be calling them “conspiracy theories” for the sake of this article.

The Birther Conspiracy Theory
According to the Oxford dictionary, birther is a person who subscribes to or promotes the incorrect belief that the former US president, Barack Obama, was born outside the United States and was therefore ineligible to be president under the provisions of the US Constitution.
Earlier this week, Josh Hammer, an editor at Newsweek wrote an essay that hinted st Kamala Harris not being truly American. This essay sparked an outcry and not long after, President Trump said these about Kamala Harris “I heard today that she doesn’t meet the requirements. But that’s very serious, they are saying that she wasn’t born in the country.”
His comments were not taken very well by lots of people as they claimed that it was a repeat of his birther attacks against president Obama. His words were said to have “endorsed and promoted” the false information.
The “Not Black” Conspiracy Theories
Those who go about spinning this conspiracy theory claim that Kamala Harris is not a black woman and also not an African American.
“Kamala Harris is Indian Jamaican and Indian.
She is not a Black American and for the media to call her that is a slap in the face to Black Americans.”

The Nasty Woman Conspiracy Theory
This is not the first time Donald Trump has used the phrase “Nasty woman”. He used it in 2016 when Hillary Clinton was his opponent in the presidential race. He has used it again while referring to Kamala Harris.
President Trump said, “I was a little surprised, she was extraordinarily nasty to Judge Cavanaugh, now Justice Kavanaugh. She was nasty to a level that was just a horrible thing the way she was, the way she treated the now justice Kavanaugh. I won’t forget that. So she did very poorly in the primaries and now she’s chosen so let’s see how that will work.”

The “Bully” Conspiracy Theory
Rudy Giuliani said, “I feel sorry for Joe, I feel sorry for the country that he picked a horrible prosecutor. That woman is a bully. She’s a bully. Here’s what I mean by that. I know prosecutors, like cops. She prosecuted little people and she wouldn’t prosecute big people. All the politicians and Willie Brown’s friends, they went free.”
