Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Lose Third Child
TV Personality, Chrissy Teigen and music icon, John Legend took to their social media pages on Wednesday to announce the sad demise of their newborn son, Jack.
On the 27th of September, halfway around 20 weeks into her pregnancy, Chrissy had taken to her Instagram stories to update her followers about her time in the hospital. According to her, she had been having serious complications with her placenta and also, the regular bleeding made it imperative for her to be on bedrest. Although the bleeding was only getting worse, she reassured her followers that the baby was strong and they only needed to get through the awful phase. Following that announcement, a few of her followers tried to diagnose her and give her some ‘unsolicited’ advice.
Chrissy had taken to her Twitter page to address the issue as she said, “I just shared as much as you need to know about what’s goin on, on insta stories – medical Twitter I beg you to please not diagnose me as there are so many factors that make me different from your patients.” Her followers had taken the cue and focused on wishing her and the new baby a speedy recovery.
On the 29th, she also shared an update on the situation with her followers.

Sadly, on the 30th of September, she posted an official statement about the loss of her son.
We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.
We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.
To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.
Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.
We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.
The family is already blessed with two children – Luna, and Miles. This pregnancy was supposed to be Chrissy’s first natural birth (she had her other children through IVF). It was something she didn’t think would be possible as she didn’t hesitate to share her struggles with getting pregnant.
In her own words, “On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

May the family be granted the fortitude to bear this unimaginable loss. Love and light. 🙂
