Why was Cardi B Sued?
Cardi B is being sued for $24 million over an incident that happened in 2018. The plaintiff, Emani Ellis, accuses Cardi B of physically insulting her, stating that Cardi B spat on her and cussed her out. She is also claiming that Cardi B scratched her face so badly that it required surgery.
All these happened at a medical facility where Cardi B went for a medical appointment. Cardi B stated that Emani Ellis said to her, “this b*tch hit me this b*tch freaking hit me I’m going to mess her up” and things like “I don’t care who you are.” Cardi also added, “at the time I was confused because I didn’t touch her.”
Cardi B Denies Allegations in 24 Million Dollar Lawsuit
Emani Ellis is suing for assault, emotional distress, negligence and false imprisonment and also that Cardi made comments about her body; she is asking for 24 million dollars as compensation.
Cardi B has denied such claims, stating that they bumped into each other and it was more like a chest-to-chest confrontation. At some point, the OBGYN attendant had to come in between them, which Emani’s lawyer described as a hamburger situation with Cardi and Emily as the buns.
According to Cardi B, she had just finished her appointment, which lasted 25 to 30 minutes. The doctor examined her baby, who was her first child. She then left, taking the elevator down. That was when she saw Emani Ellis, the security guard, standing as if she was coming into the elevator as she was leaving. At some point, Emani started recording her, which offended Cardi B.
Unfortunately for Emani Ellis, when the supposed incident happened, nothing was properly documented. Therefore, there is no substantial evidence to back up her claims, not even a doctor’s report about her supposed facial injury caused by Cardi B.
Furthermore, Cardi B is known for always carrying long, pricking nails, whereas at the time she had square-shaped nails, further dismissing her claims of injury. Emani’s lawyer was clearly frustrated about the situation, repeatedly asking a lot of questions in court.

Several witnesses have given their testimonies, even the attending doctor, who says Emani’s claims are all false. Things indeed are not looking favourable for the plaintiff. Cardi B, on the other hand, seems relaxed and unaffected; she stated that after the incident, she didn’t even think about it anymore.
Confidently, she has been slaying different styles and wigs, to Emani’s lawyer even commented on it,
“You had black hair last time, and now you have blonde hair. Is that even your hair?”
To which Cardi B replied flatly,
“It’s a wig”.
The internet has deemed her the most unserious yet serious person for her frankness and honesty in court, earning her more fame and viral edited videos online.
You might be wondering where Cardi B security was in all this frenzy, she stated that “I wanted to keep my pregnancy private at the time and didn’t want my bodyguard, who is a guy, to know I was going to see a vagina doctor.”
In return, the lawyer asked if she didn’t trust her security team, and she replied with, “Yea I do, to some extent, but I don’t want everyone to be in my business.”

In the end, the court ruled in Cardi B’s favor, dismissing Emani Ellis’s $24 million claims. The witnesses and the attending doctor supported Cardi B’s side of the story, leaving the plaintiff with no solid evidence.
