All About the AMVCA Award Night

It’s another year to name the best actors and actresses at the AMVCA award night. The African Magic Viewers Choice Awards Night, 11th edition, was held on the 10th of May 2025 at the Exhibition Center, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria. The AMVCA cultural day was held on Friday, the 9th of May, where the attending guests showcased their different interpretations of their cultural heritage.
There would be a best-dressed outfit at the event, and although only one person took the crown, it was evident that efforts were made towards the event. Winning the best-dressed male and female at the AMVCA cultural day were Prince Nelson, an actor and TV host, and Liquorose Afiji from the BBNaija show. Various stars performed at the AMVCA. Uche Montana’s orange and blue gown. Now that’s a color combo you don’t see regularly, and the fact that it looked stunning on her needs to be investigated. The long flowing sleeves were a unique addition to this piece.
Bambam, our very own Achalugo, if you know what I mean, wore a beautiful body gown made of Ghanaian material for the AMVCA cultural day, perfectly embodying the concept of Ghanaian culture.
Mercy Aigbe, dressed as the moon, the star, and the sun, came prepared to claim the best supporting actress award in style.
Nana Akua, a Ghanaian actress, made a lasting statement in a rotating dress at the 11th edition of the AMVCA, setting the bar on appearance. She was in no way overshadowed by the glamorous Nigerian big stars at the event.
Papaya Ex shook the internet with another sensational gown, She appeared at the award night dressed as a very detailed banana outfit. Desmond Eliot wore a black coat and a ballroom skirt with an elephant print on it, this outfit was a surprise. Although the best-dressed at the award night was not chosen, who should be crowned the winner?
