‘I told him to bring my charger from his house.’

‘I cried and developed a crazy craving for bananas…they sure said bananas are happy fruits.’

Keep Anon (F)

‘I took him back smh… I was really moving mad when I was in uni.’

‘Hmmm truth is this breakup thing is not funny at all..hard girl, hard girl, I did not know when I started to stalk this guy on all of his socials. His updates, his lifestyle, his work, everything that had a piece of him in it, I was obsessed. If he posted anything that felt like he had moved on, or made it seem like he was back to being happy without me, I would go into straight depression for a week. I guess I kept on wishing we could get a second chance that I did not know when I unconsciously started to stalk him. I guess that was my crazy way of finding closure.’

Ola the bad bitch (F)
Lagos

‘I wrote a book about him. Can you imagine that?!!!! I sat down and wrote a book for a boy that had just broken my heart. I left work, left my business, and started to write a book about a mother f******* who had just dumped me. If that isn’t crazy, I don’t know what else is. Guess this heartbreak thing can really do you in.’

Olanna (F)
Lagos

‘You know you’re going crazy when you break up with someone and start rereading your chats and laughing at your recorded call conversations, and sighing over what would have been and losing appetite for food and the will to live. God, how did I let someone’s son have so much power over me! I know heartbreak is not that deep, but there are some that are deep. Like my own for instance. E pain me sha. Ochuko, wherever you are, you know yourself. God will punish you for breaking somebody’s daughter’s heart. Ashawo that you are!’

A not-so-christian sister (F)
Lagos

break up texts, break ups, break up images,

‘Called him and told him to go to hell. Threatened him that I would get my brothers to date his sisters, and get them to break his sister’s heart in the most disrespectful way ever, just like he did to me. I know it’s just bluff sha, but at the time I said it, I really meant it. I was willing to go to any legal length to get him to pay for dumping me. I was so good to him. I did not deserve any of this, honestly. All men are scum, but what they don’t know is that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Please guys stop hurting good women. If you’re looking for dirty games, go and meet the others who would not care..just leave good girls that just want love and companionship alone. Please. I use God take beg you.’

Deborah (F)
Lagos

‘Omo I was behaving like everything was normal. I tried to convince myself that I was fine. Everyone around me was hailing me that I just moved on like nothing happened. In my mind, I was trying to convince myself that I was a hard girl, and no guy could serve me breakfast.
Las las, Everybody should get out. I thought I was fine until a few weeks into the breakup, I was just walking on the road and suddenly without provocation I just burst into premium tears in the middle of the road, in public!!! That was the first time I had shed a tear in almost ten years. And it felt strange to feel water pour out of my eyes in uncontrollable torrents. I could not stop myself no matter how hard I tried. I was just there wailing like a baby on the road, that too, in public!! Las Las heartbreak na bastard sha and nothing like hard girl when you’ve been served breakfast. E dey pain sha.

‘Guys you people have problem oo. How can you tell somebody you love them, and still go on to hurt them by being indifferent?? Tola, you ghosted me?!! Chai!! You’re wicked. How could you? After you said you loved me. Asshole!!!! You’re an asshole!!! That’s what you are.
Ladies please if you hear “I love you” it’s a red flag oo…better run…most of them are just jerks and assholes. Guys, I know that talk is cheap, but never tell a woman you love them if you’re not ready to play with the commitment that comes with that word. Please, please, let’s all be guided abeg …this world has too many problems already, let’s not add love to it as well. Wicked men everywhere.

‘After Sheila broke up with me, I was heightened, confused, devastated and wanted revenge. I wanted her to feel the same way I felt because it did not feel like she was feeling any remorse about our lost relationship especially with her post on her social media, so I hooked up with one of her closest friends, cat fished her for a few months, and dumped her too..
It was crazy I know, but I wanted to ruin Sheila’s relationship with her best friend, and that was what I did. It was fun seeing the both of them drag each other shamelessly on Twitter. I enjoyed every bit of it.’

David (M)
Lagos

‘I wrote a long epistle about how I really felt and blocked her immediately off all my social media before I could get a response from her serpent-like tongue. Afterwards I went and smoked and almost drank myself to death without real food for almost two weeks. Omo I was in the trenches mahn. What women cannot do, does not exist ooo. Guys if you’re reading this, please stay strong, and protect your heart… because that gender can send you to the trenches.’

Omo, when I saw sikira with her tribal marks, from osun, omo I run ooLas Las…Lagos babes are still my spec but I no dey date anybody again for now. One heartbreak is enough to last a lifetime.’

break up texts, break ups, break up images,

‘Played my breakup playlist, then turned to God for healing.
The void in my heart was too much, I cried and cried. I even stopped eating. So one fateful day, I took a walk to clear my head, without my wallet. I walked from my house to a different area entirely and I got lost. I am sure that was a 5 kilometers walk, started around 3:44, got home by 8:20pm.
I just passed out when I got home, one of the disadvantages of staying alone. When you are going through things, NO ONE TO CHECK ON YOU.
When I woke up the next day, I honestly felt better. I started taking a daily stroll for exercise.’

Theresa (F)
Lagos

‘Was calling him with different numbers to see if he recognizes my voice. I became a stalker on social media. Any post with a female partner, I will go and drop negative comments. And also follow the girl and monitor her too.
Our breakup was for stupid reasons so I was honestly searching for a better point so the pain will reduce. I haven’t seen anything up-till now.’

This guy gave her the world then on her birthday, took her to a hotel, didn’t lodge, disvirgined her in the hotel toilet, and then dumped her.’
