Covid 19: Britain’s Prince Charles Tests Positive To The Coronavirus

The Impact of the Covid 19 on the Royal Family

The 71-year-old Prince of Wales, who is married to the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowes, and next in line to the throne has been confirmed to have contracted the Covid 19 Virus. In a report released by Clarence House, Queen Elizabeth’s son and heir apparent to the throne has been placed under self-isolation In Scotland.

Asides showing mild symptoms, the statement reveals that the prince who has tested positive to the virus remains in a stable health condition and has otherwise proven signs of good health as he has maintained his work from home routine during the past few days while self-isolating separately in Scotland with his wife Camillia.

“The tests were carried out in NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.”

In accordance with the stipulated rules and medical directives, The Duchess of Cornwall has also returned to self-isolation in their home at Balmoral in Scotland, even after testing negative to the virus.

The statement reveals that it may not be possible to ascertain where the prince may have contracted the virus from, owing to the fact that the prince had been engaged publicly in recent weeks as a result of his official duties. Especially since the British royals visited Prince Albert of Monaco earlier on March 10, who tested positive only nine days after meeting Charles at the WaterAid event in London.

In recent weeks, as the fear of the virus had begun to take its toll, In a bid to keep everyone safe, the prince had avoided shaking hands with people and resorted to the popular Namaste greeting style with hands pressed together at public events.

Some reports express their concern as the prince is said to be under the age category that is most vulnerable to suffer faster with the Virus. The British government has also advised people over 70 to practice social distancing and endeavor to take these precautionary measures seriously in order to avoid further health deterioration.

For most individuals, the new coronavirus may only display mild symptoms such as cough and fever that clear up after a considerable amount of weeks. For older patients, especially those with existing medical conditions, it can be more severe, causing pneumonia and sometimes death.

The Queen is also not left out, as she had physical contact with her son on the 12th of March. However, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the queen remains in good health, and has tested negative to the virus.

Britain’s Press Association while citing a source asserts that the prince and the duchess remained in good spirits and that Charles was not bedridden.

Charles and Camilla were tested by the national health service in Scotland, while the government has stated that on Tuesday the 24th of March, a total of 6,491 people have been tested, and there is hope to increase to 25,000 tests within three weeks.

Due to recent developments, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also canceled their royal tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan from March 17 to 25.

With the prince joining a long list of dignitaries, celebrities, and important world leaders that have become infected with the Covid-19, it is our only hope that they all become better, and recover soon.
