Why an Easter Bunny?

The story begins with Eostre, an ancient pagan goddess of fertility, spring, and renewal. In old German folklore, both hares and eggs were symbols associated with this mythological figure, representing fertility and new life, perfect embodiments of springtime’s promise. Springtime feasts were held in Eostre’s honour until around the 9th century when these celebrations gradually merged with Christian observances of Jesus’s resurrection.
